Meh...

Did you even get his permission? If you were a friend of his, you'd know he doesn't go under Mid-Night. Anyways, I'm going to let him know on MSN that you're using his stuff without permisssion. =\

Decent track though. Not epic, but decent.

Airprogressive responds:

Let's see.
First: When you upload a track to newgrounds, you're doing it under a common license. You can alter that submission if you use the same license, that is what I did.

Second: I let him know about it. Legally I don't really have to let him know about it, but I did

Third: Before talking about permissions you should get informed first. If you don't know something, the best is to shut up

Thanks

That beat is fucking tight. The lyrics just get really personal because I'm sure nearly everyone who listens to this track can relate to it one way or another. It's amazing, especially with those background vocals saying "i love you". Really gives it an emotional feel that gets ya.

Only thing is that i'd work on some of the length of the verses. IMO, just because of the length, it gets a touch out of sync, or seems like it anyways. But you've got a really nice flow and the voice and lyrics are pure awesome.

Keep it up phade. You are a b-b-beast.

Phaded responds:

Yeah. My objective was to actually give it the emotional feel.

But chyeah, I'm glad you said that about the verses. I agree totally.
We discussed this. =P

I appreciate it. Haha. I tried to make the lyrics and voice perfect.

Keep it up, iKonic.

wow

worst song ever?! jokes sarcasm again :) Nice song guys. No time to review, sorry. But I really enjoyed it. Love the bass chopping and alot of the filtering done on this track. Great percussion. Great awesomeness :)

DigitalPulse responds:

Yea, funny. Next time write the longest review you have ever written.

Thanks for the review,

Alright here goes.

Nice house intro, the fade-in. I like it, it's typical and it works. 30 seconds in, I love the arps and the leads that come in. There's alot going on, but it's not too distracting and really keeps you on a melodic trance feeling. The leads and pads at about 1:00 into the song are mezmerising! Seriously, these are phenomenal man! These pads just blew me away and really make the song what it is. Perfect EQing and amazing synth creation really made this song stand out man. It has a great trance structure, of course and I'm really impressed with the piano breakdown at about 2:00. In fact, I'm kind of jealous since I can't make breakdowns myself. The filtering on the pads in the breakdown is sweet. No peaking, no nothing. Just smooth, clear awesomness. The percussion wasn't the best ever, your crashes for example were very low pitched and I thought they took away a bit from the fact that this is such a happy song. Very euphoric and uplifting. The only other thing that slightly bothered me were your open hihats. But, I'm really, really picky with those. Seriously man, I really enjoyed this track and had lots of fun trying to give you a legendary review. I just reviewed and wrote down what I thought. It's too bad it's finished though; I would've loved to hear a longer, extended version. This song is very short for the amount of potential it has.

Great stuff man, keep it up and just get signed for fuck sake!

Kazmo responds:

Only faded it because I cut out the intro and outro, so I figured I don't want it to be abrupt.

I'm not going to comment on everything you said, since there's really a lot, all I know is that it's really good feedback, because I did read it all, and smiled the whole way. :]

About the crash, ya....I dunno, I like it. same with the open hats. :P

Good job!

It's built up alot from when I first heard it. I really like this and I like the changes you've made to the song. I don't particularly like the choice of kick you made, but other than that, the orchestral beginning to the song really makes it original. Keep it up man. I really like your hardstyle stuff.

Z-Tone responds:

thanks dude!
yeah i know i over did the kick i think
too much messing with it
and thanks man i like your hardstyle stuff too!

good job

Amazing. I learned how to play this on the piano this year. I think that you could have added a bit more liveliness to the piano; some reverb, delay, an exciter even.

This is a great song. I'm really happy that you decided to make this track. :)

Alexman159 responds:

i went for cover

Hey Gey

Well, I guess I won't comment about your percussion because apparently everyone else has already done that for me.

Now Jonathan. I've been listening to you making this for the past little while and at first I didn't know where the song was going to go. Actually, I'm lying. I just lied to you. I knew where it was going to go. It was going to go awesome.

I loved the bassline at the beginning of the song, as well as your grinding synth you had playing around 1:30. Loved it. Especially where it echoes off into a transition. However, I dislike the breakdown and the second bassline. We already spoke about it once, you and I, but I might as well cover it again since I'm in the middle of giving you a review. It goes up, and up, and up and up. And doesn't really seem to end. It has an awkward feel and seems just... amateur in comparison to the beginning.

Overall, I really, really enjoyed this track. Especially the beginning. The only other thing I would say is that you could have expanded much more on the bass fills and percussion fills. It got a bit boring to listen to the same ones at every 8th or 16th bar.

Again, great song. Hope you can make another solo track, or maybe a collab track *with me*! haha!

-Frank

DigitalPulse responds:

Why would I want to collab with you?
...
...
...
Well, because your FRANK! :)

As for the second bassline, I like it, but less than the first one. It does go up and up and up, but it's more original like that xD As for the fills, I like to keep it the same to keep a nice groove going.

Thanks for the review,

Digital Pulse

Howdy there. I'm cool.

Hmm... It's high time I decide to review right? Good choice of a mellow song by Imogen Heap to remix. I loved the vocals. They were fresh. Not too dry. I think you really made them crisp. Cool idea how you made the whole track a minimal house. Great choice in my opinion. Really drove the song into a different direction. The vocals fit more of a trance-style song but you proved that you can put vocals like that in almost any style.

For instruments, you had an extremely nice bass/line. Loved the creaminess to it. Had nice filtering. The automations were spot on and well executed. My favorite instrument so far that you've made was the one that comes in around 2:20. Really nice. Smooth.

Overall, this track is extremely well mastered and has a professional quality and tone to it. Very nice vibe and the feel of the song is perfect. If it wasn't a remix, this song would be signed in a minute. You're well on your way of professionalism; just get off of NG bud. :)

-Frank

Kazmo responds:

As soon as I heard the vocals, I was like...I must make this house-ish!!! :D

Trance didn't even cross my minddd lol

LoL! For now, I'll be still on NG. In due time though, I'll move on. :]

Thanks for the epic review!

Hi.

Nice song, but I hate to tell you that this was not even CLOSE to drum 'n' bass. Go to the audio portal again and check out the DnB section. Play a few songs and listen to them. The best way to make a style is to listen to it.

Nice dance track either way. Very melodic. I enjoyed your leads. Very well chosen. Good job!

codbarley responds:

oh. sorry bout that. like I said, I'm not familiar with the genre. Thanks for the comment tho
