Yes, I am.

That's what I thought.

Badass Mother f***er right here babeh :)

Love you lots. :)

Hey Gey

Well, I guess I won't comment about your percussion because apparently everyone else has already done that for me.

Now Jonathan. I've been listening to you making this for the past little while and at first I didn't know where the song was going to go. Actually, I'm lying. I just lied to you. I knew where it was going to go. It was going to go awesome.

I loved the bassline at the beginning of the song, as well as your grinding synth you had playing around 1:30. Loved it. Especially where it echoes off into a transition. However, I dislike the breakdown and the second bassline. We already spoke about it once, you and I, but I might as well cover it again since I'm in the middle of giving you a review. It goes up, and up, and up and up. And doesn't really seem to end. It has an awkward feel and seems just... amateur in comparison to the beginning.

Overall, I really, really enjoyed this track. Especially the beginning. The only other thing I would say is that you could have expanded much more on the bass fills and percussion fills. It got a bit boring to listen to the same ones at every 8th or 16th bar.

Again, great song. Hope you can make another solo track, or maybe a collab track *with me*! haha!

DigitalPulse responds:

Why would I want to collab with you?

Well, because your FRANK! :)

As for the second bassline, I like it, but less than the first one. It does go up and up and up, but it's more original like that xD As for the fills, I like to keep it the same to keep a nice groove going.

Thanks for the review,

Digital Pulse

Hmm

I feel that this song has alot more potential and with a bit more work, this could be a killer hit.

Howdy there. I'm cool.

Hmm... It's high time I decide to review right? Good choice of a mellow song by Imogen Heap to remix. I loved the vocals. They were fresh. Not too dry. I think you really made them crisp. Cool idea how you made the whole track a minimal house. Great choice in my opinion. Really drove the song into a different direction. The vocals fit more of a trance-style song but you proved that you can put vocals like that in almost any style.

For instruments, you had an extremely nice bass/line. Loved the creaminess to it. Had nice filtering. The automations were spot on and well executed. My favorite instrument so far that you've made was the one that comes in around 2:20. Really nice. Smooth.

Overall, this track is extremely well mastered and has a professional quality and tone to it. Very nice vibe and the feel of the song is perfect. If it wasn't a remix, this song would be signed in a minute. You're well on your way of professionalism; just get off of NG bud. :)

Kazmo responds:

As soon as I heard the vocals, I was like...I must make this house-ish!!! :D

Trance didn't even cross my minddd lol

LoL! For now, I'll be still on NG. In due time though, I'll move on. :]

Thanks for the epic review!

Hi.

Nice song, but I hate to tell you that this was not even CLOSE to drum 'n' bass. Go to the audio portal again and check out the DnB section. Play a few songs and listen to them. The best way to make a style is to listen to it.

Nice dance track either way. Very melodic. I enjoyed your leads. Very well chosen. Good job!

codbarley responds:

oh. sorry bout that. like I said, I'm not familiar with the genre. Thanks for the comment tho

Good job.

Hate to say it but it was very distorted because of that sweep and your kick. I liked the EQing on your piano though.

Nice stuff man. Keep it up. Careful though, try not to overuse the sweep effects ;)

Fredgy responds:

ok thank you dude ;)
i tried edit it like you said :p
new upload will come one of these minutes :D
i tried to edit the sweep etc so it doesn't distort :-) i hope i managed to do it :p
and i tried to edit the number of sweep effects ;-)
thank you very much :p

Good job.

A few things could be improved on:

The bass is weak, and the lead needs to be changed up a bit. If you made them yourself and learned to EQ them, you could actually get yourself some really nice sounds instead of the factory sound.

Also, DJ Splash has much quicker, more hands-up styled music. Maybe about 140-150. This is a tad soft for DJ Splash style. By all means, it's good. But a bit too soft core. As I said, learn to master and EQ your percussion and instruments.

Other than that, really, your melodies do sound like Splash and you've even got an intro and outro. The song is smooth and flows gently. I'd simply work on adding more parts to the song; more variation.

That's my 2 cents. Enjoy.

LK412 responds:

Ur totally right man. This song is way empty but if i added like an arp for example it would be too crazy. I honestly need to learn how to EQ to fill out my songs.

This is 145 bpm but ur right when u say its too soft, its because the instruments dont seem to hard.

Thanks a lot for the review, i really have to improve my technical skills. Thanks a lot man i really appreciate it. I will definitely drop by and give u a review or two sometime.

Thanks again.

I like how you made it a fast paced song. Are you new this because it sounds a little professional to me. I like it. But the kicks get very repeative. And the ending is just horrible. LOLZ"

I love how this guy doesn't know shit about what he's talking about. Firstly, a kick can't get repetitive. The beat can. The kick is driving your entire track. Although it is muddy, the rest of the song is alright. The percussion could use a bit of work.

On the synth side, of course as you said, anyone could recreate Basshunter's Dota. However, you managed to add a bit of variation and originality to it. I'm a bit disappointing about the synth sounds and the ending. Although that voice clip was well used :)

Good stuff man. Seems you've got your learning process well on your way.

SuperMechaCow responds:

No need to bash, man.

I couldn't get a good kick sound without distorting it like I always do. I'm a little lacking on samples since all my stuff got erased awhile back. Percussion is one of my weak points.

Once again, the sounds were part of the "joke" in making the song and you can read about it in the edited description.

hi, my name is frank

I could've been first to review way back. haha

I wuv you.

Btw, if we make an electro song, you and I, we'll win at life :)

Mid-Night responds:

I already win at life! But I would sure love to let you in on the spoils my man!

Careful,

Those vocals peak a bit at the beginning while they're being automated. Great song non-the-less. I loved the dance groove to this song. Felt a touch generic to my taste but loved it all the same. Keep it up Envy, ;)
