Very nasally. I don't particularly like the vocals because you slide too much going from one note to another. It's odd.

Hmm, I never noticed that I slided from note to note... It's just something I do subconsciously. But I guess that's just my style. The nasality is probably due to the mic I'm using, which has a presence bump at 1kHz. I'll fix that up later with EQ. Thanks for the tips!

Wow.

I'm extremely impressed with the professionalism of this song. The guitar riffs are very soft and clean. Each pick stroke is defined. I especially like 1:10 with the wahwah. I really think that it gave the song a touch of Funk when that came in.

At 1:55 the songs mood changes. I think it changed keys. The flanger is noticeable which is good. That flute I believe it is drives the song emotionally at that point. I was very impressed overall with this song, especially with your percussion. Amazing. Keep it up and make more music like this.

Heh. These great reviews make me feel bad for pointing out tiny misconceptions. That change of pace you're referring to is actually a violin/viola duet. Easy mistake loaded up with vibrato, I know.

As far as your comments on quality, I cannot return my thanks enough. Professionalism is exactly what I strive for with my recorded tracks, and my motto has always been not to record anything if I can't do it right.

The percussion was kept rather simple throughout because I believed it wasn't the focus of the song and should complement rather than drawing attention away.

Overall, thank you so much for your sparkling review. Your kind words are much appreciated =)

but this was undiserving of top 5. you've made your top5 before so you've established your fan base so you can basically submit anything, including EQing demos that people will vote up to the top. that's not how this system should be.

There's been better by you, and there's better in the audio portal that deserved the top 5 this week.

i agree with this. it was just a slight rhythem away from being a little electro. but in any case the instruments i chose all sounded interesting to me and thats what i tried for but i can see how other instruments might have fit better.
