Thanks for the review man. The inspiration came from the singing so that's why this song even happened. Stay up and keep working on your beats.

@imagwrave

Read the review, it's constructive not negative.

Now I believe that using the FL Stock percussion was useless. It instantly categorizes this track as amateur. The other things that bugged me personally were using 3xOsc sound presets. If you tweaked them, at least, your sounds would sound better. Layering effects on them would also make them sound better. Last thing is that some of your melodies have accidentals. Although, in this case, I wouldn't say they're accidentals rather than wrong notes and your melody around at 1:28 has a few of those. I'd just be careful of those because they make the melody a little more difficult to listen to. I understand that this is an old song but you need to take the criticism regardless.

I was impressed that for a 7minute song, you didn't make the song ever seem boring. Lots of different melodies. I congratulate you on that. Keep it up man, I can see that with practice, you might get somewhere.

Groovebot responds:

Thanks, man. Like i've said previously, I was sort of bummed that this ended up being my first song on the top 5. 'Knockout' is my most recent one. You should check it out. I've gone from using stock drum samples to using drums in Propellerhead Reason through ReWire and a MIDI out channel, with extra effects added in Reason. I still use a modified sytrus preset from time to time, but there are a good two years of experience and constructive criticism between Knockout and this song. The difference is noticeable. Epic Fruit is pretty good in the same sense, and has better melodies than any song I've ever made, but as far as technical originality, Knockout's where it's at!

And thanks for the criticism, and the complement. Being a Graphic Design student, I know criticism is a GREAT thing to have. That's why I joined newgrounds :-)

Fidget at it's best.

Loved it man. This is definitely in the style of Mustard Pimp or The Bloody Beetroots. Well done. You've captured figdet music and transformed a great song into an even better, hectic house song. Nice basslines man. Seriously impressed, keep it up.

well done

nice loop dawg. I really liked it. Guitary and such. Keep it up.

PoyzenJam responds:

thanks man :3

this isn't house

It's not bad. Very melodic. Has some cool elements.

very gay

there's too much penis in this song and not enough donk. You need to take out the jizz and start focusin on the music man. Keep it up, but next time, stop sucking dick. Actually, you can it's cool if you swing that way.

Kazmo responds:

I lol'd...BUT I LIKE TEH JIZZ IN MAH HAIRZ!!!1

hey

Nice track. Flows very well and has a really sweet groove to it. Only thing I'd say is to bring out the lows in that bass! They're barely audible! It has a very unique tone, that's for sure. But it's not bassy. Great song. It really gets going once the piano comes in. Has a funky daftpunk-esque feel until you bring in your own style - as you said. This has a semi-videogame feel to it. I can really vibe on it.

Great track man. Top notch!

This

is a great track man. First off, the beat was simple and really mellow. I liked that. I only didn't like the snare and that melody around 1:50 which I felt killed a bit of the vibe of the entire track.

In terms of your 3000word essay, it was a real insight to how people see and feel about time and life these days. There's no looking back and you shouldn't hold on to worthless things. Don't worry about the future. Just live day by day happily. :)

Blasphem-E responds:

For sure man. Thanks for the thoughts. And I'll relisten to that snare.

sweet

I CARE! :D

Fauster responds:

buttsex, plox

Good stuff

Only thing I would add to this is much more variation on the percussion. Instead of having a 4-8 bar loop with on every 4 measure a variation, i would do a 2 minute drum loop with complete variation and originality throughout the piece. I say this thinking of artists such as Ulrich Schnauss who's a great lounge / ambient breakbeat artist.
Of course, that's opinionated. Great track otherwise. Liked it alot. Please come out with more of this.

Thanks for the advice mate!
